The PK Connection story
Updated: Aug 14, 2020
The PK Connection started in 2018 based on an idea to get PKs together at my church to start building community with each other. In 2015 I was a speaker on a panel, speaking on the experiences of a Pastor's Kid. So many issues came out of that session, I knew that I had to do something about it. PKs are often overlooked, stereotyped and stigmatized. Many have church hurts and have fallen away from the church. Many Pastor's families experience secret traumas that can never get uncovered for fear of judgement from the congregation. There is usually not a platform for PKs to share 'the real' side of themselves. So, we started the PK connection as a small group of 22 PKs and we started meeting virtually every week. Those meetings brought so much healing and breakthrough for many. I knew then that this group was bigger than us. So here we are! Taking The PK Connection to the world!
